Cookies we set

None on the public pages. The editors' sign-in area sets a single cookie that keeps an editor signed in for up to 24 hours. It is strictly necessary for that area and is never set for readers.

Cookies others may set

  • Spam protection: the contact form loads Cloudflare Turnstile, which may use browser storage to tell people from automated scripts.
  • Shops: if you follow a link to Amazon or another retailer, that site or its affiliate network may set cookies to record the referral. Those cookies are governed by the retailer's or network's policy.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The checker and the articles work without any cookies at all.
